Job Overview:
The University of the Free State (UFS) is excited to offer its Internship Programme for 2024. Position Purpose:
The UFS Internship Programme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world experience. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative tasks and office management within assigned departments.
- Contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects and initiatives.
- Conduct research, gather data, and prepare reports or presentations as needed.
- Provide support for event planning and coordination, including logistics and communication.
- Maintain and organize records, files, and databases.
- Participate in team meetings and offer input on ongoing projects.
- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry and document preparation.
- Complete any other tasks assigned by supervisors or team members.
Education:
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program at UFS or another accredited institution. Relevant fields of study may include Business Administration, Information Technology, Social Sciences, Engineering, or related disciplines.
Experience:
- Previous work or internship experience is beneficial but not required. The program is open to students and recent graduates who are enthusiastic about gaining practical experience and learning from professionals.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic research and analytical capabilities.
