Job Overview
The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) is offering internship opportunities for 2024. Position Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in executing daily tasks and projects within designated departments.
- Support SAMSA’s mandate by working on maritime safety, security, and environmental projects.
- Conduct research and analysis related to maritime policy, regulations, and safety.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement activities and attend industry events.
- Prepare reports, documents, and presentations under the guidance of senior team members.
- Collaborate with different departments to enhance maritime safety measures.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while learning industry best practices.
Education Requirements
- A completed degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Maritime Studies, Environmental Science, Engineering, Law, Public Administration, or other related disciplines.
Experience Requirements
- No prior experience is required, but any previous internship or volunteer experience in a related field will be advantageous.
Skills Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
