The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Internship is pleased to announce its Graduate Internships Program for the 2024/2025 intake. Position Purpose
The purpose of the IDC Graduate Internships Program is to equip graduates with practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional experience that will help them transition from academia to the workforce. Interns will be placed in various departments within the IDC, where they will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to key projects, and gain insight into the operations of a development finance institution. The program aims to develop future leaders who are passionate about economic development and committed to making a positive impact in South Africa.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in various projects across departments such as Finance, Risk Management, Investment, Legal, Human Resources, and more.
- Assist in the analysis and evaluation of investment proposals and business plans.
- Conduct research and compile reports to support decision-making processes within the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that drive industrial development.
- Support the preparation of financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide support where necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings to enhance understanding of the IDC’s operations and the broader economic landscape.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and systems.
- Uphold the IDC’s values of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to development in all tasks and interactions.
Education
- A recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- A strong academic record with a focus on relevant coursework and projects.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required, but internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer experiences related to finance, economics, business, or development will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with financial analysis, economic research, or business development will be beneficial.
- Experience with data analysis tools or financial modeling software is a plus.
Skills
