The Department of Justice (DOJ) Internship is inviting motivated and passionate individuals to apply for our Internship Program for 2024. Position Purpose

The purpose of the DOJ Internship Program is to provide participants with practical experience in various areas of the justice system. Interns will gain exposure to the inner workings of the DOJ, develop professional skills, and contribute to initiatives that uphold justice and the rule of law.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research and Analysis: Assist in conducting legal research and analysis on various topics.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Case Management: Support case management activities, including data entry and file maintenance.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, organizing files, and handling communications.
  • Project Support: Assist in the development and implementation of projects and initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with DOJ staff and other interns on assigned tasks and projects.

Education Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Law, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Political Science, etc.)
  • A strong academic record.

Experience Requirements

  • Previous internship or work experience in a legal or justice-related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest in the justice system and public service.

Skills Requirements

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational: Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal research tools.
  • Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
