Health Systems Trust (HST) Internship is seeking talented and motivated individuals for the 2024/2025 Software Developer Internship. Position Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, providing timely resolutions.
  • Contribute to the improvement of existing software systems by implementing enhancements and optimizations.
  • Assist in the deployment of software applications and provide support for end-users.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software development.
  • Document technical processes, user manuals, and other relevant materials.

Education

  • A recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A strong academic record with a focus on software development and programming languages.

Experience

  • No prior work experience is required, but any internships, part-time jobs, or personal projects related to software development will be beneficial.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and platforms (e.g., Git, Visual Studio, Eclipse) will be a plus.

Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is desirable.
