Job Overview:
The PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) Internship Program offers graduate students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the regulatory and oversight functions of the private security industry. Position Purpose: The purpose of the PSIRA Internship Program is to offer graduate students practical experience in a dynamic regulatory environment. Interns will support various departments within PSIRA, helping them develop skills and insights relevant to their academic background and future career paths. The program aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application in the security regulatory sector.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with research and analysis of regulatory policies and procedures related to the private security industry.
- Support the preparation and review of documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance and enforcement strategies.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
- Provide administrative support to various departments, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
- Engage with stakeholders and assist in addressing queries and concerns related to PSIRA regulations.
- Help coordinate and support outreach and educational activities within the industry.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the effective functioning of the organization.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Law, Public Administration, Security Management, or any related discipline.
Experience:
- Previous internship or work experience in a regulatory, administrative, or security-related role is advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in the private security industry or regulatory affairs.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
