Job Overview:

Position Purpose:
The purpose of the SAPU Learnerships is to provide young South Africans with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the police services sector. This program offers participants the chance to work under the guidance of seasoned professionals while developing skills in various law enforcement and security functions. By the end of the learnership, participants will be well-prepared to pursue permanent positions within SAPU or other law enforcement agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in various law enforcement duties and responsibilities within SAPU departments.
- Support investigations and operational activities.
- Engage with the community on various law enforcement and safety-related issues.
- Participate in administrative tasks including report writing and case management.
- Attend training sessions and workshops designed to enhance professional skills.
- Work alongside experienced law enforcement officers to gain practical, on-the-job knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards in all tasks performed.
- Foster teamwork and effective communication within SAPU and the broader police force.
Education:
- Minimum Qualification: National Senior Certificate (Matric) with a strong focus on English and Mathematics.
- Additional Requirements: Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Criminal Justice, Law, Public Safety, or similar fields of study.
Experience:
- Entry-Level: This is an entry-level position, so no prior experience is required.
- Preferred Experience: Any prior experience in customer service, security, or volunteer work in a law enforcement capacity will be advantageous.
