Position Purpose:
The purpose of the Sea Harvest Internship Program is to support the professional development of recent graduates by providing them with valuable industry experience and exposure to various facets of the seafood industry. Interns will work on meaningful projects, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and gain insights into the operations and challenges of a leading seafood company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with various operational tasks within different departments, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain management.
- Support research and analysis projects related to seafood processing, sustainability, and market trends.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and innovative solutions.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support departmental objectives.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Assist with administrative tasks and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and internship coordinators.
Education:
- Recent graduate or in the final year of an undergraduate or graduate program in fields such as Marine Science, Food Science, Environmental Science, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- A strong academic record with relevant coursework.
Experience:
- Previous internships or work experience in the seafood industry or related fields is advantageous but not required.
- Academic projects or research related to marine or food science are beneficial.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
